Perú insta a Indonesia a iniciar diálogo para un TLC
El ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, José Luis Silva Martinot, confirmó que el Gobierno ha planteado al país asiático iniciar las conversaciones para llegar a un acuerdo.
Durante su participación en la Cumbre de Líderes del Foro de Cooperación Económica Asia-Pacífico (APEC) en Rusia, el ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, José Luis Silva Martinot, informó que el Gobierno peruano ha planteado a Indonesia iniciar las conversaciones para llegar a un Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC).
“Indonesia es el país más grande del suroeste asiático, con cerca de 250 millones de personas. Es un país pluricultural y que tiene un mercado sumamente grande”, dijo el ministro.
Asimismo, se dio a conocer que se van a empezar conversaciones, tanto con Indonesia como con otros países en búsqueda de nuevos acuerdos de libre comercio. Por ello, Silva Martinot indicó que se promoverá la protección de conocimientos tradicionales de recursos genéticos a través de Centro de Promoción y Protección de los Conocimientos Tradicionales.
“El Perú va a plantear hacer una reunión ministerial en la cual se aborde este tema y que el mundo entero comience a tomar un interés en esta iniciativa”, explicó.
